You may have found some hair mask options for your skin, but what about the potential of using raw Manuka honey for your hair’s benefit?  There are several ways in which you can put it to work so that your hair can enjoy hydration, strength, and a healthy glow that’s going to feel as good as it looks.  Some of the most popular options include:

1. Manuka Honey and Water Hair Mask

This is about as basic as it gets -- in a good way.  It could be replacement of shampoo whenever you wish to use it.

Ingredients:

1. 1 tbsp of Manuka honey

2. 3 tbsp of filtered water

3. 3 Drops of Essential oil

Direction:

Add 1 tbsp of Manuka honey with 3 tbsp of filtered water, and add a few drops of your favorite essential oil, too.  Mix it all together, and then massage it into your scalp after wetting your hair.  Then rinse this hair mask off as usual.  Voila.

2. Manuka Honey and Milk Hair Mask

Ingredients:

1. 2 tbsp of Manuka honey

2. ¼ cup of milk

Direction:

For this one, you’ll enjoy a creamier consistency.  Add in 2 tbsp of Manuka honey with ¼ cup of milk.  Mix together by shaking in a bottle and then apply to your hair after wetting it.  Rinse out as normal.

3. Manuka Honey and Coconut Oil Hair Mask

Ingredients:

1. 1 tbsp Manuka honey

2. 1-3 tbsp of coconut oil

Direction:

For a classic and straightforward hair mask, you will mix 1 tbsp Manuka honey with between 1-3 tbsp of coconut oil (depending on your hair’s natural oil amount) in a saucepan.  Heat on low and mix together thoroughly.  Using a clean, fresh brush, carefully apply it to wet or dry hair.  To keep it from messing with your natural hair oils, focus on the ends and lengths, leaving 1 inch or so between the mask and the scalp.  Let it sit in your hair for about 30 minutes, then wash off with your regular shampoo.

4. Manuka Honey, Avocado and Olive Oil Hair Mask

Ingredients:

1. 1 avocado

2. 2 tbsp of olive oil

3. 2 tbsp of Manuka honey

4. 2-3 drops essential oil

Direction:

If you love that creamy and luxurious feel, you’ll enjoy the blend of 1 avocado with 2 tbsp of olive oil, 2 tbsp of Manuka honey, and 2-3 drops of your favorite essential oil.  Whip all ingredients together in a bowl until it is a smooth consistency. Apply to ends and work your way up to about 1 inch from the scalp.  Leave in for 30-45 minutes, and then rinse shampoo and condition as usual.

5. Manuka Honey and Vinegar Hair Mask

Ingredients:

1. 1 tbsp of TURNER Manuka Honey UAF1000+

2. 100 ml of lukewarm water

3. Vinegar

Direction:

Mix 1 tbsp of TURNER Manuka Honey UAF1000+ with 100 ml of lukewarm water and a splash of vinegar.  Apply to your hair and leave on overnight to enjoy the restoration of shine and gloss.  Then wash with shampoo and condition as normal.  If you need some scalp love, you can massage the mix into your scalp, too!

Which one is best, you wonder?  It all comes down to figuring out what you want to accomplish.  If you want a shampoo switch-out, the first two are great to use regularly.  If you want a classic hair mask, you can use it once a week or once a month; the latter two will be your best choices.  It all comes down to sorting out what you think your hair needs most and, in all honesty, what you already have in your pantry!
